  • As an established business and specialist in their sector our client has a strong existing client base but was struggling to produce inbound leads.
  • The current marketing function was not producing optimum ROI and was not linking effectively with the sales function.
  • The client wanted a revenue driven CMO to take control of the marketing division, own the direction and work with sales to produce an effective, collaborative and efficient revenue producing function.
  • The client needed someone who could pull together the UK, US and European markets.

 

Approach:

  • The client was keen to leverage our experience in the market and we worked in unison to help shape the brief, responsibilities and expectations for the marketing lead.
  • Opto Talent then produced a sourcing strategy to ensure the best candidates were being targeted and spoken to for the position.
    • When recruiting previously the client had been overwhelmed with the sheer volume of applicants they received and despite receiving suitable profiles was unsure whether they were the best candidates full stop, or just the best of an inbound collection of applicants.
  • Once the sourcing strategy was completed Opto then produced an interview process with the client ensuring key role requirements were challenged / reviewed as well as ensuring time was smartly managed for all key stakeholders – especially as there was travel involved.

 

Conclusion:

  • The interview process was planned across a 3 stage, 4 week cycle with the goal of having a shortlist of 6 initial interviews and 2 at final stages / 1 meeting the board.
  • Opto successfully delivered the target numbers set out at the start of the search, and we were able to deliver the candidates within the set time frames to match the clients international travel plans.
